The two Presidents and the incoming and retiring Chancellors of the Pontifical Academies of Sciences and of Social Sciences had an audience with the Holy Father on June 4th. The Presidents shared the current and upcoming themes of consultations and activities with the Holy Father, who welcomed the work and appreciated the engagement of the Academies in issues of great importance for humanity, such as climate change, health, equity, and peace. The Holy Father underlined the autonomy of the Academies, and their sound management. He expressed his gratitude to H.E. Msgr. Marcelo Sánchez Sorondo for his tremendous achievements as Chancellor of the Academies, and cordially welcomed the new Chancellor, H.Em. Card. Turkson.
