Address of the Holy Father Paul VI on the Centenary of the Birth of Guglielmo Marconi

Address of the Holy Father Paul VI on the Centenary of the Birth of Guglielmo Marconi
At the end of the erudite commemoration, the Holy Father took the floor to express the joy, the spiritual pleasure, the satisfaction procured in him by the initiative of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, to which he gratefully expressed his best wishes for its future.
Referring to Guglielmo Marconi, Paul VI underscored his magical, prophetic commitment, entirely placed at the service and benefit of humanity. From his work as a scientist and believer, what emerges are the results obtained by human thought and activity when they are used for the good of humanity. They are also a testimony to the glory of God, because the discovery of nature's energies and their mechanisms highlight the power of the Great Maker. The Pope concluded his brief speech by thanking the speaker for the moment of intellectual happiness he had offered him and the prestigious guests, in the hope that everyone could profit from this lofty vision of the realities of the world, including the physical ones, through which it was possible to glimpse the infinite power and majesty of God.
