Commemorative Session for the 4th Centenary of Federico Cesi's Birth

The Academy celebrated the fourth centenary of the birth of its founder, Federico Cesi, on 6 June with a Commemoration at its headquarters, the Casina Pio IV, in the presence of Eminent Cardinals, Archbishops and Bishops, Ambassadors and Scientists. After the introduction by the President, Prof. Carlos Chagas, two speeches were given by Father Enrico di Rovasenda on "Scientific, philosophical and religious knowledge in Federico Cesi" and Prof. G.B. Marini-Bettòlo on "Federico Cesi and the New World". On the same day, an exhibition of important original documents on "Federico Cesi and the New Lynxes" was inaugurated in the halls of the Vatican Library, on the joint initiative of the Academy and the Prefect of the Library, Academician Father Leonard Boyle.
