The First Private Session of the Fifth Academic Year was held on Saturday, 22 March 1941. It was exceptionally chaired by Academician Francesco Giordani, given the forced absence of the President, Fr. Agostino Gemelli, for serious health reasons. During the session, the official statement with which Pope Pius XII conferred the title of "Excellency" to the Pontifical Academicians was read. Last but not least, the Academicians presented their scientific studies and most recent publications.
