The Third Ordinary Session of the Third Academic Year was held on Saturday, 27 May 1939. It was chaired by Fr. Agostino Gemelli. During the session it was announced that a bust in memory of Pope Pius XI, the "August Restorer" of the Pontifical Academy of Sciences, would be erected at the Academy. The Academicians then presented their most recent scientific studies.
