The colloquium on globalisation and inequalities is the object of a separate publication: The Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences: Miscellanea 3. The roundtable on democracy, with three outside experts, was an intermediate stage in the implementation of the Academy programme on the theme of democracy, which was discussed in a seminar held in 1996 and in two plenary sessions (1998, 2000). In order to draw from this previous work the formulation of elements which the Church can use for the development of her Social Doctrine, written evaluations of the publications which resulted from these meetings were prepared by the three outside experts and discussed at the roundtable. The reports of these experts will be published next year when the report of the Academy will be issued.
